The EVO VIII / IX Billet Fuel Rail features a large 0.69â€³ ID bore to suit even the most fuel hungry engines.Â The rail is CNC machined from solid 6061 aluminum and black dipped anodized for a high quality surface finish.Â It is compatible with all fuel types including popular alcohol mixtures such as E85. Below is a size comparison with the OEM restrictive fuel rail.
The Radium fuel rail is the first and only on the market to support an (optional) fuel pulsation damper.Â The opening and closing of the injectors creates pressure pulses in the fuel rail, which can lead to unstable fuel pressure.Â In order to achieve a safe and consistent rail pressure, a pulse damper should be used (especially with high flow injectors). The internal diaphragm will absorb oscillation pulses and stabilize fuel pressure. This correction can be measured throughout the RPM range and can often help an erratic surging idle.Â
The inlet end port uses 3/4â€³-16 female threads (-8AN O-ring port) to accept a variety of adapter fittings for custom high flow fuel system builds. The opposite end port is 3/8â€³ NPT female which permits the use of the stock FPR (using the optional adapter below) or the pulse damper, as described below.Â The top surface auxiliary port also uses 3/4â€³-16 female threads (-8AN O-ring port). Both configurations, described below, come standard with a plug for the top port.
Unlike most aftermarket EVO VIII/IX fuel rails on the market, the Radium variation eliminates the OEM 2 bolt inlet flange for the OEM regulator which uses a restrictive 0.22â€³ (5.7mm) orifice. Furthermore, Radium has made it easy to adapt to common -AN fuel hoses on both ends of the fuel rail.Â
This option utilizes an injector fuel pulse damper that installs on the 3/8â€³ NPT port in replace of the billet FPR adapter.Â This setup requires an externally mounted regulator, such as theÂ RadiumÂ MPR.Â For flexibility, it also includes a -6AN and -8AN male adapters that can be used on either the inlet or top 3/4â€³-16 ports. Custom hoses will need to be made.
This option includes everything required to simply unbolt and replace the OEM fuel rail. First, aÂ billet M14 inverted flare adapterÂ is included to adapt the OEM hard line on the firewall to -6AN. Next, a pre-fabricated ethanol compliant -6AN PTFE hose is included to replace the OEM rubber hose and restrictive 2 bolt flange. A custom billet fuel pressure regulator adapter is included for the 3/8â€³ NPT female end of the rail to reuse the OEM fuel pressure regulator.
FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE
If a Radium mechanical gauge is required, select the 20-0075 Gauge/Adapter option above. A billet adapter fitting is included to replace the plug in the top port. The gauge then screws into this billet adapter fitting. The location of this port was strategically placed for the gauge to be easily viewed.
